Our Approach - Developing the whole you
At Redcliffe we believe that preparing you for holistic mission means integrated training for your whole person. Our courses bring together academic study (knowing), personal growth (being) and practical experience (doing).
Knowing - We are all theologians whether we like it or not - the important question is; are we good ones? Our courses are designed to help you become better theologians, better historians, better students of world religions and better biblical scholars. We aim to provide you with the latest thinking in mission and offer a wide choice of subjects. Our courses are also taught by lecturers with first-hand mission experience, who are able to share with you their wealth of knowledge and experience. Your fellow students also come from a huge variety of backgrounds, bringing different perspectives and worldviews that will inform your understanding.
Being - As part of your training, you will be part of our Personal Development Programme which is concerned with your well-being before God. You will also find that living in a vibrant, international, cross-cultural community provides extraordinary opportunity to be shaped by those who are like and unlike you.
Doing - Our courses have an explicit focus on cross-cultural mission and practical placements form an important part of your training. Placements provide you with an excellent opportunity to put into practice all that you have learnt during the year. Each year you will be trying out your skills in the UK or overseas under the guidance of your placement supervisor.
