Our new MA in Intercultural Studies in Asian Contexts will provide focussed postgraduate training for Asians and non-Asians seeking to become more effective in this exciting and challenging ministry.
The MA in Intercultural Studies in Asian Contexts Modules PDF Download provides a comprehensive overview of the modules available on this course.
"It is vital for those called to work with Asians to understand the culture and religions of the people. This MA will equip them to present the Good News in relevant and credible ways in an Asian Context." (Current MA student from India).
Who is the course for?
Are you looking for postgraduate study that:
- helps you deepen your understanding of Asian worldviews?
- enables you to prepare to work with Asians around the world?
- allows you to focus on a particular region in Asia, within the context of wider issues in contemporary mission?
- is taught by Asian and non-Asian staff with first-hand mission experience in the region?
The course can be studied over one year full-time, two years part-time or through our 'flexible learning mode', a distance learning style programme combining supported independent learning with an annual residential summer school over a three to four year period.
In addition to Redcliffe staff with Asian ministry experience, visiting the programme is also resourced through close partnerships with South Asian Concern, International Christian College, Interserve, OMF International and Navigators UK.
"Even though I'm Asian, it's good to study and have a deeper understanding of Asian philosophy and culture because Asian culture is varied and complex with the influence of globalisation.... We Asians have a better understanding of our own culture when we study in the West because we can learn how the West see Asians." (former Redcliffe student)
