Building for mission: a firm foundation
Redcliffe College is probably one of the longest standing and most innovative mission training colleges in the UK. It is recognised as a centre of excellence for training in cross-cultural mission, relief, development and church-planting work.
Training the 'whole person' is at the heart of our ethos, reflected in the Redcliffe approach of 'knowing, being, and doing'.
Knowing: Academic courses range from twelve-week short courses, a one year Professionals in Mission Certificate, undergraduate qualifications in Applied Theology to BA (Hons) level, and an innovative MA programme. Read a student story about 'knowing'
Being: Our Personal Development programme focuses on spiritual growth as well as the invaluable learning opportunities that arise from living, studying and working alongside an international community. Read a student story about 'being'
Doing: Undergraduate students are involved in a weekly placement and they also spend six weeks each year doing a full-time placement, usually in a mission setting in the UK or abroad. Read a student story about 'doing'
"I believe that good mission training is not just important, but essential. If a person has been Redcliffe-trained, then they will be well equipped for the task. It's a privilege to be involved with a college that combines academic excellence with comprehensive, down-to-earth training." Jo Jowett, Associate Director, Christian Vocations
"Redcliffe prepares people for the real world of mission, providing a strong academic foundation alongside excellent cross-cultural and missiological training. Our mission partners who train at Redcliffe have been well equipped to take on leadership roles within Interserve." Ruth Millsom, Director of Human Resources, Interserve
