Lecturer in MissionAndrew is married to Carol and they have four children, a boy and then a hat-trick of girls! Andrew spent 9 of his first 11 years growing up in Santiago, Chile, the son of missionary parents, so as a 'Third Culture Kid' he feels more at home in an airport departure lounge! He completed his education at Guildford College of Law after doing a law degree at Manchester University and spent a gap year back in Chile teaching English and serving in the Community Church there.

Andrew practised as a commercial property lawyer for 10 years, before studying Applied Theology at Moorlands College en route to serving with Latin Link in La Paz, Bolivia for almost 3 years. During their time in Bolivia, he and Carol worked alongside an indigenous charismatic Bolivian Church with special responsibility for discipleship and teaching ex-street children and staff in a Bolivian-initiated project.
In a church context Andrew has served in a variety of mission-related, pastoral, teaching/preaching and leadership roles. He combines his role at Redcliffe with a role in Latin Partners, supporting Latin American missionaries living and working in the UK and Europe and also serves on the committee of the "Back to Europe" initiative supported by the European Evangelical Missionary Alliance, which is helping to mobilise, support and train the mission movement coming into Europe from the Global South. He is also working with his wife Carol, to develop a justice and mission-based initiative at Redcliffe.
Andrew enjoys a number of sports, especially football (still playing, just!), cricket and rugby (definitely no longer playing). He enjoyed the challenge of playing football at high altitude for his local indigenous village team in Bolivia, on the premise that he had been secretly drafted in from Manchester United – a myth quickly dispelled by on-the-field evidence!
Other interests include spending time with the family and trying to watch his children outshine him (not difficult!) in various sports. The family attend a church in Cheltenham, where they have lived since returning from Latin America.
