Coming to faith at 14, Colin studied modern languages at Kings College, London, before going on to study ministerial and missionary training at the Irish Baptist College, while obtaining his Bachelor of Divinity externally from London University. After brief service as a pastor, he went to Nigeria with Action Partners for nine years, spending seven at the Theological College of Northern Nigeria. Colin then spent the next 14 years at the Lebanon Missionary Bible College and finally came to Redcliffe in 1998. He was Academic Dean at the College for six years, overseeing the growth of Redcliffe's MA provision from one to seven MA programmes, as well as our successful QAA review in June 2012
For his PhD Colin studied under David Wright at New College, Edinburgh, researching the priesthood of all believers and the priesthood of the ordained in the first 300 years of the church.

He is also a trained spiritual director with several directees. Colin enjoys watching sport on the TV, reading 'whodunits', listening to music (nothing after 1820), and walking, especially if it involves a climb and spectacular views.
