For his PhD Colin studied under David Wright at New College, Edinburgh, researching the priesthood of all believers and the priesthood of the ordained in the first 300 years of the church.

He is also a trained spiritual director with several directees. Colin enjoys watching sport on the TV, reading 'whodunits', listening to music (nothing after 1820), and walking, especially if it involves a climb and spectacular views.
