Tim Davy

Lecturer in Biblical Studies & Mission,  Director of the Centre for the Study of Bible and Mission

Having been a visiting lecturer at Redcliffe for four years, Tim joined the faculty in 2008. He teaches a range of  Bibilcal focused courses at undergraduate level, and is also heading up Redcliffe's MA in Bible and Mission which includes modules on Reading the Bible Missionally and Bible Engagement in Intercultural Contexts.

MA, BSc (Hons), Dip Theo, CELTA (TEFL) Lecturer in Biblical Studies & Mission, & Director of the Centre for the Study of Bible and MissionTim completed an MA in Biblical Studies in 2005 and is now working on a PhD on the missional interpretation of the Bible. He is a member of the Tyndale Fellowship and serves as an editor for Encounters Mission Journal.

Tim is also the Director of the Centre for the Study of Bible and Mission which is a Redcliffe specialist centre aiming to serve the Church by engaging in research, teaching, writing and speaking on mission in the Bible, and the Bible in mission thinking, practice and training. His  areas of interest and research include: The missional interpretation of the Bible (missional hermeneutics), the use of the Bible in mission, Wisdom Literature and Psalms, poverty and injustice in the Old Testament, Scripture Engagement, Bible Translation, Orality. Brought up in a Christian family in Buckinghamshire, Tim made his faith 'his own' at the age of 17 at a missions convention in Holland. After studying Business Management at Aston University he spent four years doing student work; two years with the Universities and Colleges Christian Fellowship (UCCF) on the Relay programme in Birmingham and then two years in Siberia with the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES). He then returned to the UK and joined St Andrew's Bookshops in a marketing role.

Tim has also been involved in and has led a number of short-term mission trips to Israel, Belgium, France, Israel, Ghana, Peru and Western Russia (with IFES, Love Russia, Operation Mobilisation (OM), Intercontinental Church Society (ICS) and church-based teams). He is part of the Discipleship Leadership team at a local Baptist church, where he and his wife, Hannah, are members. They also have a beautiful little girl who keeps them on their toes!

Outside of work, Tim loves films, sitcoms, sport, reading, catching up with friends and spending time with his family.
