Qualifications

Level 4 Entry

To begin a validated undergraduate course you must have a minimum of 2 'A' level passes (or equivalent formal qualifications).  Alternatively, if you are a mature student, you can complete a portfolio demonstrating skills and experience that are transferable to academic study, and take a short entry test on the day of your interview.

Level 5 and 6 Entry (second and third year undergraduate)

If you have already completed theological studies at Certificate of Higher Education level or equivalent at a recognised college or university you may be admitted to Level 5 or 6 via Accredited Prior Learning and so attain the Redcliffe BA degree in one or two years. If you wish to apply for this, please fill in the APL form as well as your application form, both of which are  downloadable from the how to apply page.

Postgraduate study

For the MA progammes, a 2:1 or First Class Honours degree is required and acceptance on the course subject to interview.  Students with a good 2:2 degree may register for the Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert), and re-register for the MA if successful in class-work.

If you do not have a undergraduate degree but have a number of years of missionary experience and theological thinking, you may be required to undertake a written assessment to ensure that you have the skills required for postgraduate level study. If approved, you may register for the Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert), and re-register for the MA if successful in class-work.

If you have already completed academic studies at MA level in one or more subjects closely related to our MA modules at a recognised college or university you may be allowed to obtain credit for one or two of the MA taught modules via Accredited Prior Learning. If you wish to apply for this, please fill in the APL form as well as your application form, downloadable from the how to apply page.

If you are continuing postgraduate study, such as the diploma stage of an MA where you have previously completed the certificate, please also use the APL  form.

International Students

In addition to the above, if English is not your first language you are required to have English to a minimum of IELTS* Grade 6.0 (with 5.5 in all sections) or its equivalent.  For the MA, IELTS Grade 6.5 or equivalent is required.  For non-validated courses, the requirement is Grade 5.5. This is to ensure you can benefit sufficiently from the courses and community life at Redcliffe.  (*British Council International English Language Testing System)
