We understand the necessities of community living and our range of
accommodation caters for the different needs of a diverse student body. Whether
you are single, married or a family with children, we have accommodation to suit.
Single Students
Single students have
their own study bedroom in the large three-storey residential wing of the main
building. The bedrooms are spacious and fully equipped with a bed, bedside
table, wardrobe, chest of drawers, desk and chair. There are several single-sex
bathrooms on each floor, which include showering facilities. Laundry facilities are conveniently located
on the first floor.
Students enjoy socialising in the Loggia (student social
area), games room and TV room in the accommodation block and there are also two
well-equipped student kitchens and a cosy dining area - great places to chat
with fellow students over a late night hot drink, or to cook Sunday lunch with
some friends.
I have enjoyed the fellowship of cooking with others in the kitchen, as well as being able to escape into my room or the library when I need to study or just 'get away'! Redcliffe provides a great environment to relax in and to be myself
Married Couples
Married couples without children usually stay in the
main accommodation wing. They are provided
with either a large, spacious, double study bedroom or a smaller bedroom with
adjoining study. The rooms are fully
equipped with a double bed, bedside table, wardrobe, chest of drawers and a
desk and chair. Married students are encouraged to join in with community life,
and make full use of the kitchen, TV room, games room and Loggia (student
social area).
While it was important to get time together as a couple, living in college helped us settle into Redcliffe's community life much more quickly and enabled us to develop good, strong friendships which were a real encouragement through the year.
Accommodation for Families
We provide limited dedicated housing for
families at Redcliffe Court - you can read more details in the families page.
Non-Residential Students

Whilst we
encourage our students to make the most of community life by living in
Redcliffe accommodation, we recognise that some students do not feel suited to
living in a large community for a variety of reasons. Students choosing to
live out of college are still very much part of the community and take part in
meal times (in particular the midday meal when staff, students and their
families and visitors have lunch together), community groups, devotions and
social events.
If you are offered and accept a place at Redcliffe and are
considering the non-residential option, you will be given a fact sheet which
includes details of estate agents and property rental prices in and around Gloucester.
My wife and I chose to live outside of college and found a house
about a mile from Redcliffe. We tried to be a part of the college
community as much as possible by regularly having lunch with everybody,
inviting folk back to our house for meals and taking part in some of the
evening social events
