Family Facilities

Children play a
big part in community life at Redcliffe and we take great care to cater
for the specific needs of families. The college lawns are a great place
for children to run off excess energy, and there is an enclosed play
area for children on the main campus. School-aged children attend nearby
primary and secondary schools.
For
younger members of the family, on-site crèche facilities are available
for children during week-day mornings. Additional sessions can be
arranged for afternoons if regular lectures are scheduled and there is
enough demand. The crèche can accommodate three babies and seven
pre-schoolers at any one time. Each week follows a theme with related
structured play and craft activities, and there is a large well-equipped
playroom with access to the garden and outdoor toys on sunny days. A
sleep room with cots also provides a quiet area for babies to have a
'nap'.
The OFSTED registered
facilities passed their latest inspection with flying colours, and
Christine, the crèche supervisor, holds an NVQ3 qualification in Child
Development. Please note, there is a small charge for crèche sessions.
Family Accommodation
Redcliffe Court is a block of six
two-bedroom
self-contained flats within two minutes walk of the main college campus.
The
flats are ideal for smaller families or those with very young children.
Each
flat comes fully furnished and equipped with all the conveniences
required for
modern living.
Families
with children under 5 have priority for Redcliffe Court if accommodation is over-subscribed. Families with
school-age children occasionally live in the main building with their
bedrooms
together in one wing. Other families choose to rent accomodation near to the college, and we will help as much as possible to find the right place for you and your family.
From the moment we arrived we have felt welcome. Our temporary
home has
become a real one and through the months we have come to know our fellow
students. In the hard times we have been taught by God, formed by our
housemates and upheld by other students in the main building. Together
we form
a new unique family, and we are very glad to be part of it.
