Where Redcliffe graduates go

Previously, training for mission tended to emphasise 'from the West to the rest'. Mission in the 21st century is 'from everywhere to everywhere' and Redcliffe students reflect this trend. They quite literally come from everywhere and go to everywhere.

Recent graduates are now working in places as diverse as Madagascar, Japan, Chile, Kenya, Mozambique, Hungary, Indonesia to mention only a few. In total former students can be found in nearly 100 countries around the world – as well as on our doorstep.

Mike Curtis and Gloucester City Mission

Mike wasn't sure what he would do after completing his diploma at Redcliffe, but then a lecture in urban mission changed everything. "I heard God ask me 'why not in Gloucester?', and I knew I had to start a city mission on my doorstep."

Mike piloted Gloucester City Mission during his 2nd year term placement.  Gloucester City Mission was formally launched in February 2004, eight months after his graduation from Redcliffe.

Gloucester City Mission seeks to make the Gospel known and reaches out to many of the city's homeless, working alongside existing organisations and churches. Mike is also Chaplain at Gloucester College (formerly GlosCat), and involved in evangelism amongst the gypsy population.

But the Redcliffe link continues, with several Redcliffe students doing weekly and term placements with Gloucester City Mission. Mike also contributes to the teaching of the first year Evangelism and Discipleship course

"Pastoral studies at Redcliffe equipped me and helped me learn to listen and communicate. God's been so good, I feel privileged to have come to Redcliffe and have my life changed,” he says.
