lectures for applied theology degree studentsFrom mission across the street to mission around the world, Redcliffe’s BA(Hons) in Applied Theology in Intercultural Contexts provides students with thorough preparation and training for full-time Christian work anywhere in the world. Through in-depth biblical, theological, cross-cultural and mission studies, students are given the tools to apply their faith practically in whatever context they find themselves.

Who is the course for?

Our degree students come from a wide variety of ages and backgrounds, from mature students exploring new directions to school-leavers doing a first degree. Many of our degree students go on to long-term, full-time Christian ministry, such as working with a church in inner-city London, school chaplaincy or mission and development work overseas.

Course structure

In the first two years as a Degree student you follow the same course content as the Certificate and Diploma courses, choosing modules from a diverse range of practical, biblical, theological and missiological subjects.  In your third year you study less subjects but at a deeper level, enabling you to focus your learning.  You will also complete a 8,000-word dissertation on an Applied Theology topic of your choice that you have selected, researched and analysed.

The personal development programme is an integral part of all three years of the Degree course. Your final term placement between April and June builds on your previous placements and takes place anywhere in the world . It will help you consolidate your learning and is an opportunity to explore your future ministry.

The downloadable course information on the left gives you an outline of all the modules available to you over the three years.
