Continuing professional development

Continuing professional development allows you to access the latest in mission thinkingThe gospel never changes, but the context and practice of mission has - and is continuing to do so more quickly today than ever before. Through Redcliffe's flexible programme of Continuing Professional Development you can discover more about the latest developments in mission. Our courses are taught by lecturers who themselves have cross-cultural misson experience.

Who should do Continuing Professional Development?

  • Are you personally involved in cross-cultural mission, and want to maintain, improve or broaden your mission knowledge and skills?
  • Would you like to spend time researching a topic that is relevant to your situation, using extensive library and research facilities? 
  • Do you have an opportunity for a sabbaticcal, living and studying in Redcliffe's vibrant international community? Or would you prefer flexible study while you work? Both options are available to you.

Flexible Learning MA

Redcliffe's flexible learning MA programmes allow you to combine work commitments on the field with studyRedcliffe's Flexible Learning MA is a flexible distance-learning style programme. It can be studied over two to four years. It is ideal for those who want to study a Masters programme, but are unable to leave their work for extended periods of time. The following MA programmes are available in flexible learning mode:
 
 

Pick and Mix

A very flexible option, allowing you to select modules from our Certificate and Diploma courses. The Pick and Mix course allows you to study from one term (six weeks) to one year, and begin at any point during the academic year.

The Across the Cultures course course allows you to select from a range of topics most specific to cross-cultural and mission issues.Across the Cultures

The 12-week Across the Cultures course allows you to select from a range of topics most specific to cross-cultural and mission issues. The course runs during  Semester One each year, and provides you with a chance to study and think through the issues you are already facing in your mission context, or can help you prepare for mission in a different context.

Supervised research

You can also undertake a period of 'supervised research' offering the opportunity to work on a project in an academic environment, away from the field and your day-to-day pressures. You can undertake literature or field research in a well-defined area and write a moderate length thesis on your findings.
