If you are looking for flexible training for cross-cultural Christian ministry, and can begin at any time of the year, then look no further than Redcliffe's Pick and Mix course.
This non-validated course allows you to choose from a wide range of subjects from our Diploma in Applied Theology in Intercultural Contexts, and also study topics of specific personal interest under the guidance of Redcliffe tutors.
Course structure
You can begin at the start of any of the three semesters and study for as little as six weeks, up to a year. During Semesters 1 and 2 (between September and April) you will follow the modules available to first and second year undergraduate students.
During the third semester, Pick and Mix students join with the
Professionals in Mission students for a bespoke programme covering topics relevant to living and working in a cross-cultural context.
As a Pick and Mix student, mission placements are optional, but you do play a full part in the
life of the Redcliffe community, including Teamworks, community groups and
times of worship. You can also take part in the
personal development programme. Pick and Mix is taught at Higher Education level, and students
completing the course are awarded a Redcliffe College short course
certificate. Whilst the course is unvalidated, it is possible to transfer to the one year
Certificate in Applied Theology in Intercultural Studies, validated by the University of Gloucestershire, so long as you complete the required assignments.
What the students say
Pick and Mix gives us the flexibility to choose the courses we need for
our ministry. It's great for those who already have been on the field, who
know what they want to learn, and don't need a formal qualification
I
have found the Pick & Mix course extremely helpful. As a young mum
it also means I don't need to worry about missing
deadlines if my daughter suddenly gets sick or refuses to sleep when I
was planning to study!
