Redcliffe's academic year begins in September of each year and ends in June the following year.
An academic year consists of three semesters:
- Semester one runs between September and January and consists of two 6-week terms
- Semester two runs between January and April and also consists of two 6-week terms.
- Semester three runs between April and June and is eight weeks long. Certificate, Diploma and Degree students do their 6-week placement during this semester then return to college for a further two weeks. The three-week MA summer school is also held during this semester.
Holidays usually fall in line with local school holidays, which helps students with families.
New students starting in September and January of each year are also required to attend induction days, immediately prior to the start of the semester.
