Building for Mission update – September 2008
Resource Centre
The four tenders have been received, two of which are now being considered in detail. The Governing Body of the College will be deciding at their meeting in late September which of the building contractors to appoint for the work.
We are delighted that we have received, or had promised, a third of the overall cost of £1.8 million (including professional fees) for this development, and we look forward to the building of the Resource Centre commencing in the coming months.
If you would like to be part of this exciting development and send a gift for the project please use the donate link on this page – thank you.
Loggia
Work has commenced on this vitally important development of additional recreational and social facilities for our growing body of students. It is due for completion by the end of September and we look forward to seeing it finished and, no doubt, being well used.
We encountered some unexpected additional expenditure on the roof structure of the Loggia, so we still need in the region of £30,000 to cover all the costs involved in this aspect of the Building for Mission development. If you would like to help us reach this target please use the donate link on this page – thank you.
Building for Mission update – June 2008

The pre-tender estimate of the cost for building the Resource Centre is £1.5 million. Formal tenders from four building contractors will be available by the end of June.
Building the Resource Centre is planned to commence in 2008, subject to finance being available, and it will take 12 months to complete. If you would like to send a gift towards the development of the Resource Centre please use the donate link on this page.
Loggia
Work on the development of the Loggia will take place in July and August, in readiness for the commencement of the new academic year in September. It's exciting to see this aspect of the development coming together at this time.
We have received much of the finance necessary for this part of the Building for Mission project, for which we are thankful. However, further support is still needed, so if you would like to help us to complete this vitally important work please go to the donate link on this page.

Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent were received in late March, which is great news.
Recent gifts mean that we have received almost all of the finance necessary for this aspect of the Building for Mission project. Further support is still needed, so if you would like to help please go to the donate link on this page.
Building for Mission update – January 2008
An encouraging numbers of gifts from individuals and trusts have been received, enabling the Building for Mission project to go out to tender.
The Loggia project is underway. The planning application and listed building consent has been submitted to the council and we are waiting to hear their response.
We are thankful for answered prayer regarding two important decisions.
• HM Revenue & Customs have agreed that we do not have to pay VAT on the construction, saving us £230,000 in tax costs.
• The Board of BSUFI in America have approved our application to join the Foundation allowing US donors to give in a more tax efficient way.
We would appreciate your prayers for us during every stage of this exciting development. If you would like particular information for prayer please contact Tim Lewis - thank you.
