Across the Cultures - This twelve-week course runs from September to December each year, providing students with the essential skills to meet the challenges of mission and to reach out across the cultures.

Across the Cultures

This twelve-week course provides students with the essential skills to meet the challenges of mission and to reach out across the cultures.

The course is ideal for anyone preparing for short-term mission overseas or in the UK, or those on a gap year or sabbatical. It is also a useful refresher (and refreshing) short course for missionaries on home assignment.

Across the Cultures combines academic study with practical experience and personal growth. The core modules cover living and working cross-culturally, the biblical basis of mission, issues and trends in mission and teamwork and conflict resolution.

Optional modules include spiritual formation, Bible study methods, cross-cultural communication and contextualisation.

You will gain practical skills through a variety of workshops including language acquisition, car maintenance and arrangements for living abroad.

You'll also be able to take time out to read and reflect, listen to God and experience life in a vibrant multi-cultural community.

Across the Cultures is taught at Higher Education level. Whilst the course is unvalidated, it is possible to build on the studies in order to complete a CertHE in Applied Theology in Intercultural Studies, validated by the University of Gloucestershire.
